Blackline

Blackline connections give you access to your company’s financial and accounting reporting data.

Source Setup

Blackline uses a custom OAuth setup for authentication. You’ll need the following information in order to create a new Blackline connection:

  • Client ID and Secret: Your company’s Client Id and Client Secret will be provided to you by Blackline’s team.
  • Base URL: The base URL required to make API calls (e.g., https://<base_url>.api.blackline.com).
  • Instance Scope: The instance scope of your Blackline instance, formatted like _instance_<instance_id>_.
  • Username: Your blackline username.
  • API Key: The API generated by your Blackline administrator for your username.

What Data is Available?

You can ingest data from any report that you’re able to run in your Blackline account. Reports available for pipeline creation are listed by their BlackLine Report Name. Etleap will always fetch data from the latest report of that report name.

All BlackLine reports are Replace Mode pipelines.

Key Considerations

  • For a report to appear in Etleap’s resource picker, you’ll need to run that report at least one time inside the Blackline UI.
