Logs and Metrics
To enable better customer support, Etleap collects certain logs and metrics when you deploy Etleap within your VPC. You have the option to disable this feature at any time. If enabled, logs and metrics are sent to Etleap’s AWS account via AWS Kinesis. These events contain non-sensitive, operational data, used only for customer and operational support.
The data sent via Kinesis falls into three categories: logs, metrics, and metadata.
Logs
Logs produced by Etleap provide critical information about users’ actions, internal operations, and unexpected errors. Logs include the log message, the log timestamp (i.e., when it was produced), and the log source (e.g., a job inside the EMR cluster). Etleap never logs any of the data it processes.
Metrics
Metrics indicate the deployment’s health. Metrics are produced by Etleap application, and relate to the operation of pipelines and internal process (e.g. pipeline latency).
Metadata
Etleap produces metadata database entries as part of standard pipeline operations. This metadata includes information about your pipeline’s status and ETL activities. Pipeline metadata does not include customer data that is processed within your pipeline, sources, and destinations. This metadata is essential for monitoring your pipeline’s health.
Disabling Logs and Metrics
If you do not wish to share any of the data mentioned above with Etleap you can disable it under your Admin Console, under Settings → Support and deselecting the checkbox.

Disabling logs and metrics will impact Etleap’s ability to diagnose and monitor your deployment’s and pipelines’ health.
